Term 1

We have a very busy and exciting first term ahead of us. To have a look at what we are going to be busy doing, read our Term 1 VIP (Very Important Planner).

Our Learning in Context topic this term has been "People Who Help Us". Primary 1 and Nursery had the pleasure of a visit from a Doctor who spoke to them about what she does on a daily basis and showed the children her equipment - they even had the opportunity to play and explore with everything after her discussion.

Thank you to Noni's mum for coming in to speak to us - you were brilliant!

Primary 1 have been very busy learning lots of new sounds this term through the Active Literacy Programme. We have also been learning the Jolly Phonics songs to help us remember our sounds and the matching action.

We have been doing very well learning our numbers up to 10 and sequencing them in order. We love listening to this song to help us remember the order!

Term 1 taught sounds & common words - please continue to practise these as often as you can to continue to consolidate children's learning.

Term 2

To see what Primary 1 are going to be up to this term - have a read through our VIP.

Primary 1 had a very busy and successful Term 2. We had a fantastic time practising for our Nativity, learning lots of new songs and mixing with the Primary 2s. Thank you to all parents who helped their children with lines and their fabulous costumes!

In Term 2, Primary 1 were learning about The Senses. We learned lots of new facts about our senses and used our senses to help us with personal writing.

Term 3

Primary 1's Term 3 VIP can be read here to see what we are going to be busy learning.

We have already been very busy during our first week and have been spending time learning about capital letters and matching them to the sounds we already know. We have been using a song to help us learn all of the letter names and sounds!
